Gain a better understanding of Dutch work culture based on 5 key aspects and learn how to communicate effectively with the Dutch.

Understanding the Dutch communication style can be challenging. We've all heard these cultural stereotypes: the Dutch are very direct, always express their opinions, and have flat hierarchies in their companies. You probably already know this.

In this online event, we'll take it a couple of steps further: what stands behind these characteristics and how you can use this information to communicate more effectively, whether during job interviews or team meetings.

You Will Learn About:

• Effective communication with Dutch people in Dutch companies.
• How your own culture differs from Dutch work culture and how to use this knowledge for effective communication.
• Dutch work culture based on five cultural aspects that cause most conflicts and misunderstandings.
• Dutch ways of giving and receiving feedback, organizational structures, communication styles, and perceptions of time.
• Improving your communication with your colleagues and your boss.
• Adelina has worked in Dutch companies for the last six years and has extensively studied cultural differences. After facing many cultural challenges and feeling like a misfit at first, she eventually learned to communicate more effectively. She will share some super cool tips with you to gain a better understanding of Dutch work culture and improve your communication skills.

Hoe meld je je aan voor deze workshop?
Deze online activiteit is gratis voor iedereen. Aanmelden is verplicht.
We gebruiken het programma Zoom om elkaar online te ontmoeten. Deze activiteit is onderdeel van een samenwerking tussen JobOn en een groot aantal bibliotheken. De aanmeldingen worden centraal verwerkt. Klik hier om je aan te melden.

Online deelnemen
Na aanmelding ontvang je een bevestigingsbericht. Een dag van tevoren ontvang je een e-mail met de betreffende Zoomlink om deel te nemen. Om deel te nemen aan een online activiteit heb je alleen een laptop nodig met camera, microfoon en een goed werkende internetverbinding. De Bibliotheek helpt je als dat nodig is. Aarzel dus niet en meld je aan!
